I could have sworn such a resource existed, much like the "Event Summary" that shows only events for a particular node detail. Is there no such beast for 'Syslog Summary'? The resources I've tried all summarize ALL NODES.

Try the Advanced Syslog Count resource and see if that is what you are looking for.
