10.1.1 Installation

Question

I am thinking to just install 10.1.1 CLEAN, new DB new install to help avoid the pain of a double upgrade. I have some maps, some custom reports, may a few little changes but for the most part I've not done a lot with the product. I primarily use it to monitor the network and never had the time to play with it much.

So, I guess I'm askinf if it's a lot easier to just start from scratch and go forward from there. I expect to have problems with discovery since I discover network 10.0.0.0 and it generally times out. Just fishing for thoughts on doing the upgrade this way.

I've got NPM, NPM Second Poller and IPSLA, no other modules.

Either way will work. We have had a lot of customer upgrade with no problem, and some had issues. I would review the user feedback on upgrades and follow the upgrade path carefully. With a new install you will have to copy over reports, settings etc and that can be fairly complicated.
