SMS Alerts Using NotePage & Macros

Has anyone had any joy getting this working correctly?

The alerts sends off the SMS fine; but when using macros within the 'Trigger Message' & 'Reset Message' they don't appear to work correctly.

E.g. If my trigger message is: ${NodeName} is ${Status} I recieve that exact text on the SMS that I recieve on my phone i.e: "${NodeName} is ${Status}" rather than the actual Node Name and it's status.

It's asthough it isn't taking any notice of the macros!

Any ideas?

We are currently evaluating this software as a long term Network Monitoring solution; However if we are unable to get the SMS alerts feature working as desired I'm afraid we won't be purchasing it at the end of the 30-day evaluation period...

Any assistance with my problem as previous outlined would be greatly appreciated, as apart from this small (but curcial) problem we think this software has great potential to suite our current & future monitoring needs!

This is a Version 7.x problem only.

The interface to Notepage had a problem with Macro parsing. As of 12/11/2003 this issue has been resolved.

You can contact support for a pre-release Alert Actions DLL.
SWAlertActions.dll Version 7.0.0.125 or later.

Or... you can wait a few days for it to be released from testing and included in the complete Orion package.

I'll contact solarwinds support now, hopefully they can provided me the mentioned pre-release DLL for correcting this problem, alternatively are you able to email the said file to me if I have no joy with the support department?

I really need to get this functioning correctly in the evaluation version before I can "sell" it to my management.

Hi! Will that update also fix the macro problems when sending Emails (blank spaces where macro text should be)? Will there be anouncement here when its released or will we have to check and download the whopping 140 Mb package every now and then to find out when its released? Will the updates come without the SQL Engine in the download package so that the download is somewhat smaller?

I too have noticed some or the E-mail alerts are missing text where the macro is.
Specifically using ${Reset}. Is there a fix out for this as well?
