So we might be getting to the bottom of my odd issues with Solarwinds and just wanted to see out in THWACK land what others have done.
We have our IT department and all of the users in the department have logins into Solarwinds. Are they all in Solarwinds at once? Not really maybe 4 of us at a time at most doing things in Solarwinds. I am the primary Solarwinds contact so any updates/nodes/alerting/etc I do. The infrastructure team usually handles all the Cisco ACI nodes.
Additionally I have created dashboards and alerts for different teams in our company for their applications to assist in monitoring and troubleshooting.
Support sent this article over that stated that only 10-20 people should be accessing the webserver at one time or it may cause issues - Server sizing recommendations
My questions -
1. Anyone else in THWACK land have this kind of setup with users and access?
2. Has anyone setup a separate webserver for Solarwinds?
3. Right now the App server has Orion Platform 2018.2 HF5, NPM 12.3, Cloud monitoring 2.0, SAM 6.6.1, DPAIM 11.1.0, VNQM 4.5.0, VMAN 8.2.1 HF 1, NetPath 1.1.3, IPAM 4.7.0, NCM 7.8, NTA 4.4.0 - So would it make sense to setup a separate 'access' server for the website? So the app server can run just apps? The App server is configured as an Enterprise app server.
4. How do you setup a separate webserver for access?
5. And if you setup an additional webserver can it be load balanced?
Thanks!
