Room Alerts 24E/MIBS

I'm trying to use Orion to veiw Temp etc from Avtech Room Alerts Modules, 11E & 24E's. They supply the MIB's but I cannot seem to import them to Orion. Orion seems to have it's own 11E Mib but not 24E.

Then further to this how do I actually get the values to display to a web page on Orion?

The MIBs don't need to be imported to add them into Orion. You can add each individual OID separately with the Custom MIB Poller. You will want to do one of three things if you'd like to know what to poll:

1. Read through the MIB file to see what OID you'd like to poll. The AVTECH devices have different types of sensors and each port has its own OID tree.
2. Use the Solarwinds MIB Browser to view the AVTECH MIB tree. The latest version of the MIBs.cfg file does have AVTECH devices Tempager, RoomAlert 7E, 11E, 24E, and 26W.
3. Use a free MIB browser like the one from iReasoning to import the AVTECH MIB and do a walk to see what you'd like to poll.

Once you know what to poll, just add each individual OID using the Custom Poller. After this is done, you will need to either add the graphs to a current view or create a custom view specifically for your 24e. I have a RoomAlert 26w and since Solarwinds doesn't recognize what it is, I have a custom view defined which shows me graphs of all my sensors. You do this by going to Admin/Manage Views in the web console.

Thanks, hopefully I can update the cfg, but how do you create graphs and or views which get the data?

As I said, you have to go into the web console and either create a new view or add the Custom MIB Poller graphs to a current view. This is the only way you can see the data - you cannot see it from the Orion System Manager. Before asking for this functionality from Solarwinds, I should tell you that they are not putting any new functionality into the System Manager, as it's built off very old code. I've been told that they are focusing their attention on adding new web console functionality using new coding languages and techniques.

Here are the OID's I used to monitor the TemPager 4e...maybe the same for yours

We only use the two temperature probes, one on the floor of the room and one in the ceiling of the room.
