What icons do you want to see in Network Atlas?

We'd like to include new and improved icons in Network Atlas in the future. I've heard a lot of suggestions in the past, like Cisco visio stencils and wireless router icons. I want to open this question up and hear from you, what icons would you like to see in a future version of Network Atlas?

Definately Cisco Icons.. and any other popular vendor icons hp, dell, ibm, citrix, vmware come to mind.

I like Atlas.. it has a way to go but i think it is a solid start. if you want more feedback on the app hit me up offline

If you are asking specific Vendor type icons, These are some of the ones I would like to see.

Nortel -- (Both VOIP Systems, and Network Systems. I know Nortel was bought out )

BigIP -- (Mostly their F5 products)

SUN -- (Blade servers)

HP -- (Blade Chasis, and Servers, Storage Devices)

I normally try to copy them from Visio, but I tend to have lots of sizing problems with the icons, so if they were already in Atlas, that would be awsome!

If you want specific Models, Those can be provided as well.

While everyone else can cover icons, I will cover buildings and rackmounts.

Id like to see fixed post, cabinet, half rack, etc.

Currently I have been having to create a background and then icons to fill the rack. This is time consuming.

I dont mean to hijack the thread, but I would also like to see a slider on individual map properties to change the compression rate on background images. My background images look crisp, sharp, and vibrant in photoshop. I bring them into NA and it simply destroys them (I only assume some sort of conversion or compression is occurring. We cant have any nice presentation map backgrounds currently. For some maps this is OK to compress for the sake of load times, but on a select few I really want them to look nice.

It would be awesome to be able to link things like you can do using netzoom stencils using Visio. Each port on a switch is a linkable object.

Something great but I don't if it is possible to implement it would be to be able to add some ourself. I mean to use a jpg from us, because, in general I would need logo from vendors (Redback, BATM, OneAccess, Cisco...) and logo from our customers (private companies)...

Great idea. I think you can add your own icons by adding them to one of the folders found in here: \Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Network Atlas\Maps\NetObjects. I think gif, jpg, and bmp formats will work. We should make this easy to do in the UI.

Thank you for this answer. Copy/Paste is OK, but for the first method (which best match my needs), when I restart Atlas, it delete all the files I copied in User Graphics directory...

Any idea?
