Backstory. We have 4 servers - All 4 on Windows 2016
1. Main Poller (HA main) - Server01
2. Main Poller (HA standbye) - Server02
3. Additional Poller (no HA) - Server03
4. Additional Poller (no HA) - Server04
Due to an issue with the newest version. after an upgrade Server 03 is the only one with an issue (IIS will not upgrade to v2017.5.0.2118) it is stuck at the previous version v2017.4.0.1540. I do have a ticket open with Solarwinds on this.
So anyway. during the process, the HA somehow got busted.. Clarification - I rebooted the HA main server and the standbye took over... the main server would not come back, so I had to disable the pool. Went by SW guidelines, which I usually can trick it back into submission by powering the HA standbye off and then one by one tricking the services into running.. (another story)...
Now, I have no HA Pool, and when I try to create one, I am getting the error message of
Cannot create pool. There can only be 2 members per pool. (with a big red stop sign in front of the error).
Do I have to uninstall the 2 additional pollers, and then recreate them in order to get the HA working again,
I guess this would be the best way. All this just in order to rebuild the 1st additional poller (Server03)...
Is there an easier way to do this? I don't remember it being this difficult when I was on with the phone a few months ago with an awesome Solarwinds Tech.
Guess I am going to get started.
