SWToolset enhancement please

i have been adjusting the SWToolset menu options and would like more ${} option available for the user. For instance if you create custom fields in the Nodes table it would be great if these were available to this menu toolset.

Example: ( Added two new custom fields not nodes table - TermServer and TermPort )

you could then add a new tool when right clicking on a Node in the web frontend and login to its terminal server port for troubleshooting purposes.

If any one is interested I have written some BAT scripts to perform this function already and it works fairly well.

For those modifying the SwToolset.MenuOptions file to customize your Orion/Toolset integration menu the file you will want to edit now is at:

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

<LocalApplicationData>\SolarWinds\ToolsetIntegrationTray\Menu.xml

Where <LocalApplicationData> = <ProfileFolder>\Local Settings\ Application Data

This is for the current method of Orion/Toolset integration which started with Toolset 10.6.

Is this assuming you have the Engineers toolset installed locally on your desktop ? As I dont seem to have any of these files in the location you mentioned.

Our configuration is we have a couple of servers classed as jump servers, where engineers will access to use the Engineers toolset as these systems have access to the devices via ACL's. We dont allow user desktops access to devices as the ACL management will be to large to work with.

So I have cut down the menu system when you right click in Orion on a device to only use a coupel of tools

I would like to be able to have the ability to pull more ${} variables out of the Orion database using the right click menu, at the moment there are only a few available like ${Hostname} and ${IPaddress} as examples.
