How much space is needed for 3000 elemnts

Hi All,
I am planning to monitor 700 cisco switches with about 3000 elements.
Deos anybody know how much hard disk would be needed for this case.
Does anyone monitor an environment as the same size as above? if yes, have you installed a local SQL server or used a remote one?
I appreciate any responses to my questions.

The best answer I can give you is - it depends....

You have not given enough info to give a reasonable reply.
What is the polling frequency, what are the data retention settings,
what size server - CPU & Ram are you using?

There have been a few posts on this subject already,
do a search in this forum for: SQL database size.

Also, have you read the server sizing doc and the polling engine tuning doc?
