Lost color on Orion Web maps

My Network maps as displayed on the Orion web interface have lost most of their color. They are fine on the map maker. The cause was someone added a site while in via Remote Desktop in low color mode and that's when the color changed. I've tried renaming and reapplying the images but cannot seem to get full color back on the web. Does anyone have any ideas for a resolution?

I remember some issues when creating or editing a map using RDP-

The low color mode becomes inherited into the map- You may need to re-create the map all together

Yes I agree with the cause but is there a way to "uninherit" this problem? I've tried recreating the map via renaming and the problem follows it. The maps were custom built and any form of them I use show up as full color in mapmaker but lose everything on the web site.

Weeks of work are inchs from the trash at this moment and this is not leaving me with a warm fuzzy about Orions code.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

OK somehow I fixed it. The association appears to be locked in with the image. I backed up the map with issues then I cleared the background and saved. Then I opened a huge full color image of a colleague as the background and saved. I verifed via the web that the map was now displaying full color. I then set the background image as the original image and poof it worked on the web at full color.

Somehow the system associates the bad color setting with the background image and the overlaying icons. Using either one of these in a new config results in the same problem. I'm left believing that somehow the image and associated icons are cached incorrectly on the server and the only way to fix is to put a really huge image on the server for a spell. Oh the orignal was a BMP and the temp image was a JPG.

Not sure if this makes much sense but you CAN recover a fouled map and save yourself weeks of work!

I recently created 3 new maps in V8.1
I was poking around in the Orion install directory & notice 3 <mapname>temp.bmp files there.
I wonder if these are somehow related?

I have the same problem, but i'm using SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor 9.0 SP1. and all my 40 maps are now in a low color resolution. Any help? I have about 1800 nodes and made again all the maps is not an option

The control we use to generate maps seems to be sensitive to the bit-depth of RDP sessions on the web server (even if they aren't doing anything Orion-related). Use the Terminal Services Manager app to see what sessions are open on the server. Make sure they are all connected with greater than 8-bit color depth. Log out any sessions that aren't being used.

Solved.
In the site where I have the Orion Server a guy of the staff connected a very old monitor directly to the video card and change the resolution and color depth. Now he is fired XD
