Active alert display

Hi,

   I am trying to find a way to use variables from the alert configuration, to display in the active alerts field.  I currently have a default template for things like cpu/memory/disk/ etc. and want to have the server name, or some additional information display in the active alerts field.  This would require altering the "General" tab to say something like "Alarm - ${servername} in the message field.

   Has anyone used variables in the General tab of an alert definition, to display additional info in the message field of the active alert?  Thanks!

Don't think using variables in general tab is going to work any good.You can try this option.

In the database,pull up the Alerts table.Look for the column named "LogMessage".Probably you could run an update query and see if it works.
