Performance Benefit from Splitting off Web Services

Hi Thwackarians,

We have a very large installation -- 40,000 elements and growing -- and we have performance issues. Of course and central issue is polling servers and we are adding four. But I was wondering how much of a performance benefit there is to putting web services on a separate server. Is it worth it?

Yes spilting that is very good idea

I will say that web and splitting trap/syslog will make the MS SQL healthy...

I will say every time without fail I've seen web console responsiveness improve fairly noticeably when moving web services to an additional web server.

Will it improve your primary polling engine performance or improve DB performance? Eh, I'm guessing if those areas are having issues, the web services probably aren't the primary cause. That said, if you are approaching 20 concurrent users on your web console then having that dedicated web server would be recommended.
