SNMP Configuration Report

Hello Solarwind;

Is there a way to create a report per node that its result is its SNMP configuration? so, my report of choice will be something like:

Node name - Polling IP Address - SNMP Version - Community String - R/W Community String

If there is such report already please point me on how to do this, thanks!!!!

Hi, Mikegod,

In NPM 11.5.2 you can find what you need here:

Home > Reports > type "snmp" in the right hand search window and then hit enter or click the Search icon.

You should see a report titled "Community Strings for each Node".

Hello, I am looking for this exact report. We are using NPM 11.5.2. However, when I search for snmp in the reports filter as you specify above, this report is not listed. Actually no reports are found. Is this a report I need to create or should be included by default? Am I missing a module that I need to install to be able to generate this report?

This is a report that is provided by default with the product. Carefully review the options you've chosen to get to this page; I bet you'll find you went somewhere slightly different than what I displayed originally. The steps to check:

1. Go to http://<server name that hosts your npm>/Orion/Reports/ViewReports.aspx

2. In the far right search window, type in "snmp" and click the magnifying glass. You should see "Community Strings for each Node" listed.

The is an NCM Report, and he only has NPM and that is why he isn't seeing it. Unfortunately, it only returns the community strings for nodes that have been added to NCM.

In NPM go to the upper right corner for Settings then Manage Reports. Create a new report on all nodes. Add a Custom Table to the report and then for the Resources on the table you will want to add System Name, IP Address, SNMP Version and Community (this I believe is the read only Community string... we don't have R/W configured in SW so its not going to read it. Not sure if it appears if you have it configured).

Go to Manage Custom Properties>choose a CP>Click Export at the Export CP screen, open the plus sign next to advanced and choose Community. Make sure all of your nodes are selected, choose Excel .xls, and click Export! Done!
