Unable to connect to SQL server in DB Manager

Hi,

I have been trying to access the SQL server through DB manager but it is is giving error as unable to connect to SQL server. I am not sure what will happen if I remove SQL server from list and re-add the same (by right click--> Remove server from list).

Please let me know if it is safe to remove SQL server from list and add the same back in DB manager.

It is safe to remove and readd the SQL Server in Database Manager. Database Manager functions similar to SQL Studio Manager. If you continue to have issues, I recommend using the Microsoft SQL Studio Manager .

Make sure you have logged into the Server with your windows credentials(or that used for your DB), I sometimes log in as a different user and can't use DB Manager and have to log back in with the correct credentials

Locate the SQLdmo.dll file and write down the location. At a command prompt, enter

regsvr32 fullPathToSQLdmo.dll\SQLdmo.dll

For example, enter regsvr32 C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Common\SQLDMO9\sqldmo.dll
