Map variables

Question

When I create a new map and view it, under the map is the node name, node type and node status.

Am I able to add variables like IP address of devices to that? Or is it just something that is created automatically?

The short answer is no... But Network Guru will probably come along and whip out some custom code that will do it ;)

I am talking about the objects that are automatically generated below the root level map. Can I add modify these?

You are able to use the same variables that are found I believe under the Alert Variables section of the User Guide.

I personally have my network links setup to show the configured interface speed and the current transmit and receive utilization.

ex.

Speed ${InterfaceSpeed}
In ${InPercentUtil} Out ${OutPercentUtil}
