Has anyone tried the newer versions? We are running into this now and I know 5.0.9 workjs but it is a little older. Can anyone validate a later version that is working?
Thanks.

Not here.. We've tried an awful lot of versions too, always something "not quite right"

Ditto every other newer version I tried doesn't work. I beleive it has to do with the fact that solar winds querys off a depreciated item in 5.0.9 that was removed after that version. I've gotten nothing for answers when I've asked about their support for an updated version and I've always assumed that since V8 is supposed to support custom mibs they plan on doing away with the need for net-snmp in the future.
Just my two cents and WAGs

I am a long sufferer of the Orion/net-snmp compatability problems..... I have tested all version and the only one that will work is 5.0.9
. don't even bother with the other versions... they all do someting different but the bottom line is that they are unstable and will keep crashing... for example 5.1.1 works great for CPU, Mem and network however as soon as you poll a disk then bang the agent crashes)...
Stick with 5.0.9.. it works well on all platforms... it may be old but hey if it ain't broke then don't fix it!!
Is there anyone from Solarwinds that would like to comment about future support for Unix based systems in the future?!?!?!... I mean v8 is on the way so what is going to happen going forwards??

How do you monitor the disk? What needs to be added to my snmpd.conf?
I'm running 5.1.4.
Thanks

Okay...I'm now running v5.0.9 and I still am not seeing the disk volumes listed.
If I do a snmpwalk I see my 2 disk volumes but for some reason Orion is not picking them up. Does anyone have any suggestions?

have you tried to redefine the resources within the management tools iteself... there is nothing required in the snmpd.conf file if you see CPU and mem then this is working ok...
Open the Orion management tool, right click on the device and goto the resource tab.... you should now find disk listed in the available options

Well...using a MIB Browser I can see this:
1 / /dev/hda2 10000 -1 18374532 15812292 1628864 ...
2 /boot /dev/hda1 10000 -1 101086 87389 8478 9 0 ...
Orion on the other hand only shows CPU, Memory, eth0, lo and sit0...and I'm using Net-SNMP 5.0.9.

I have the same problem with an HP-UX system. I installed the: ixNet-SNMP A.06.00-5.2.1.2 Simple Network Monitoring protocol. The onlything I can see is CPU/Memory/Network devices within SolarWinds Orion. What is wrong ??
