Hello,
We have 100's of devices to add in to NPM, if I have all the IP's and SNMP community strings, can I add them in quicker than just one by one?
Thanks
You certainly can do this. Under Network Discovery, you can add ranges of addresses, subnets, or simply add a list of addresses using the Bulk Import option.
Are the addresses you need to add contiguous or do they skip all over the place?
GonzoUK,
Create a discovery that includes all the different SNMP community strings, and then use the Bulk Upload option.
For more information, see "Network Discovery Using the Network Sonar Wizard" in the Orion NPM Administrator Guide.
They seems to be a bit of both, I'm not infront of my NPM server until tomorrow now, but can I copy and paste into the bulk upload from my spreadsheet?
If you have both subnetted addresses and individual addresses, you may want to do two seperate discoveries.
As for the spreadsheet, export it to text, replace all delimiters with line breaks (each IP address must be on its own line), and then copy-paste into a Bulk Upload discovery.
