Upgrade fallback plan

I need to update our current Orion environment to the latest revision levels. I am currently at:

Orion 9.1

NetFlow Traffic 3.0

Application Performance Monitor v2

My question is what type of fallback do I have should the upgrade fail for some reason or another? I have a backup of the database, but I really would rather not have to go through a reload of the application/Windows.

Has anyone encountered a disasterous upgrade to the point where they had to start over?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Backing up your database is the main thing. If there is a problem, you can restore your database, then uninstall and reinstall.

I have done many many upgrades and while some were problematic and some error free I never had to restore and resintall. I think if you get yourself caught in a crack it is probably better to fight out the problems then go through the motions of a reinstall. But thats just my opinion.
