Completing Orion Configuration Wizard for NPM

Hello everyone, I am installing an additional poller into our current Orion configuration. The first install for NPM v10.7 completed. I then started going through the CW and on the last page I am a little confused on the section Database.

Here is what it says:

Database - The Orion database Solarwinds will be upgraded on (my NPM db server listed here)

My question is what exactly is being upgraded? I am concerned if this is going to take our system down during this process.

when you install an additional poller, it should not take the main engine nor the Orion web site down. it will impact the local resources.

What version are you actually trying to install?

We are a couple versions behind so NPM 10.7 what we are currently on and is also the version of NPM I am running on the additional poller

Running the config wizard will always take the system down - it stops and uninstall/reinstalls all the NPM services. As to what exactly is being changed in the database, if you're going to version 11.5 there are some big schema changes. The two most significant are changes to the alert structure with web-based alerting, and splitting the nodes table. Definitely make sure you have a backup before you start the wizard!

That's true, good point. It will not poll whatever nodes are assigned to that engine, though.
