Orion vs. Concord

Question

We currently use NNM for fault management but we're going to be adding VoIP to our network and need a better management tool. We've been looking at a number of different products including Concord eHealth. I saw two recent posts by people who were dumping Concord in favor of Orion and I'd like to hear more.

Granted, Concord is *expensive*, but do you lose any major functionality by switching to Orion? Are there any features in Concord that you wish were in Orion?

If any of you have already made the switch, what are your thoughts now?

The question is "is the functionality THAT important to you" and "what are you willing to pay for it".

Most folks find Orion covers 90% of their needs. You don't need training to use the product, you don't need a consultant to install it, it doesn't cost multiple suitcases full of cash, it doesn't take a herd of servers to run, AND (TA_DAH) the actual support folks pick up the phone (have you noticed Solarwinds doesn't have voicemail??).

And it doesn't try to do everything, aka, Concord, Openview, etc. And you don't have to trudge through all those "features" in setting it up.

I saw that post and I was hoping those guys would answer in my thread. I'd like to find out more about their reasons for switching from Concord to Orion, or for even considering the switch if it hasn't happened yet.
