I'm currently running 9.1 SP5 on a VM box. I'm also running SQL 2005 on the same box. As you can image i'm having some performance issues and now looking to both upgrade the License to unlimited (we have a lot of nodes) and upgrade to 9.5 hoping that this is bit more stable version.
I'm doing the recommended advice of the good folks at Solarwinds and upgrading the VM box to the hardware the recommend and i'm also looking to move the SQL database to a different server.
I currently have the demo of 9.5 on the same VM so i'm looking to blow that box up and remove everything, increase the RAM and re-add 9.5 with the correct license.
Now my question is how do I move everything over without losing my data? I want to basically re-IP and use the current IP address on the New box when i'm ready to switch over. That's becasue all of my gear is setup to only allow snmp from that IP address and it's a pain to change anything.
Has anybody done this or have any recommendations. Sorry for the long post.
