how can SQL be monitored with NPM or UnDP or APM?

Question

i need to monitor SQL DTS (& SSIS) jobs, especially watching for any DTS (& SSIS) job running over "x hours" and not getting completed.

by the way - it is the SQL AGENT being used with DTS job scheduling (not DTSRUN).

anyone doing anything like this or know where to start by using any of these Solarwinds products like NPM / UnDP / APM?

is there any 'how to' documentation someplace about using wmi counters & SQL Query with the APM wizard?

i'm still stumped...

it seems the SQL Query would be ideal to check a Job Status in use by the SQL AGENT, but i'm no good building this sort of SQL query.

i hope someone out there is already ahead of the game and can give me a boost using one of these features.

If this value is published as a WMI counter, you can use APM.  Also, if it's published in an internal SQL table (...lots for performance stats are), you can use APM's SQL Query user experience monitor to get the dat afrom that table.
