F5 Variables

Hi folks,

I am trying to build a custom alert per a specific client request. The idea is simple but I can't seem to locate the right magic words to find what I need.

Essentially we want to alert on when a specific POOL member on an F5 goes down - so what I guess I need, if possible, is the ${X=SwisEntity;some.magic}

Any ideas folks?

So, eventually by continuing to prod at this beast I found the answer myself.

The variabel I needed was as simple as this: ${N=SwisEntity;M=Name}

this is the query i have setup for this..

SELECT PoolMember.Uri, PoolMember.DisplayName FROM Orion.F5.LTM.PoolMember AS PoolMember
INNER JOIN Orion.F5.System.Device D on d.NodeID = PoolMember.nodeid AND FailoverStatusDescription = 'Active'where EnabledDescription = 'Enabled'and OrionStatus NOT IN ('0','1') and MemberIndex != '102'

and i use this veriable in the email: ${N=SwisEntity;M=Pool.ShortName} is ${N=SwisEntity;M=F5StatusReason}

I still can't work this out. Let me expand on my original post and see if I'm just being dumb

I'm in trigger actions sections of building an alert. I am executing an external program ... it's a batch file we run that feeds the output ov variables %1 through %8 into another system for generating Incidents from and the format is very picky.

What I need to do is find a variable or SQL/SWQL statement that will extract just the name of the pool member that has gone down. As a self-proclaimed eejit when it comes to SQL/SWQL I'm struggling on this.
