Custom Node Views

I have been trying to set up different Node Views for different node types. For example I would like to see different info for the servers as I would for the switches or routers. I am able to create the view and see it in the preview, and I can access the view by specifying the View ID and Node ID in the URL. But how can I use those different views and get to them from something like th AJAX view? For example, I look at the ALL Nodes AJAX view with no grouping - if I click on a server I want the custom Server View, and if I click on a switch I want the custom Switch View.

Yo uneed to make sure that you have enabled "View By Device Type" for each element type (node, interface, volume) that you wish to do this for.

Log into the Orion web portal with admin account. Click on Admin in the menu bar, go to Account Manager and select a user account. Scrool down an expand the <User> Network Performance Monitor Settings" menu. Choose "View by Device Type" from the drop down of each type of element that you want to enable this view type for. Click Submit.

Now go to View By Device Type in the left hand menu. You will see a list of all the node and interface types that exist in your database. So, if you have, say, a Dell server, you will see that machine type in the Node listing. Simply select the view (if you have already configured one) that you want to use for a Dell server from the drop down. If you need to build the specific view, then go to Manage Views and construct the view as per normal.
