Custom Poller Label options

I've created a custom poller that displays the spanning tree status of a link. For table output and display on the Orion website, I selected 'Use interface names from Orion' label option for the rows in my table. When I look at the table on the Orion website, it just displays a number (probably the interface number for that node) i.e. 1,2,3... then 88 for an interface on a line card further down the switch. I thought it would display the interface name as it is displayed in the interface listing, e.g. 'gigabit ethernet 1/1' or something;

any ideas?

In the UnDP tool,pull up the custom Poller in the question.

Click "Edit properties",please expand "Show Advanced Options" by selecting the + symbol.

Make the following changes.

MIB Value Type:Raw Value

Format:Text(hope this is where you got a different one,probably set to 'Enumeration')

SNMP Get Type:GET TABLE

Polling Type:Node

Doing this displays the raw values of the spanning tree state (1,2,3,4,5 in the right column) which, using enumeration and mapping, I mapped to 'forwarding/blocking... etc'. The labels on the left are still in numerical format, however.

I am trying understand the results.

When you apply the changes as suggested,are you seeing the interface name on the left and raw values in the right?

And when you set the "Enumeration",you are seeing raw values in the left and the state(forwarding/blocking) in the right?

What is the MIB value?And what device is it?

When the output is set to Enumeration (and then I map the values) I get:

Interface labels in numerical form on the left, mapped Enumeration values on the right

If I set the output to 'Text' I get this:

interface labels on left are still numerical, and raw values (spanning tree state) on the right.

The MIB i'm using is 1.3.6.1.2.1.17.2.15.1.3 and the output above is from a Cisco 4506.
