How do I monitor the Cisco 4402 Wireless LAN Controller?

I have been reading all the various threads on how and Solarwinds supports the Cisco 4402 Wireless LAN Controller, but I have to say that I am more confused now then when I started reading this stuff.

While I realize that a lot of the information is old, it is still hard to tell what the accepted process is and once I am able to monitor it what kind of data I will get.

Can someone please give me the correct current step by step instructions to monitor the Cisco 4402 Wireless LAN Controller?

At this point without specific instructions, I am not sure I could ever figure out how to get this working.

Have you configured SNMP on the controller yet? This will be the first step before adding the controller to NPM.

OK - I figured out what was the problem with the 4402. SNMP was being blocked and once I figued that out, the 4402 came in just fine showing it as a wireless controller with all of the data.

Next problem is that we also have a Cisco 5508 which I am seeing, but I am getting an error saying "Wireless device was not found in database!" under Thin Access Points.

Am I to assume that while the 44xx series is supported, the 55xx series is not suportted.

I would think if you can support the 4402, then getting support for the 5508 shold not be that much of an issue.

How can I get support for the 5508 working?

Nevermind, I see my error now. Cisco 5508 seems to be working fine now and I am getting all of the data from it.

It did seem to take quite some time for this to getrolling within Solarwinds.
