When I replace a switch to a different model, I get "Node status is Up, 'GigabitEthernet0/2 · Uplink Port' is in an Unknown state."

Question

Hey all,

We are in the process of replacing some switches with newer models. I am finding alot of the switches are showing errors saying a port is down when the port doesn't actually exist anymore. I thought the Orion would be able to detect its a new switch and remove invaild ports but I guess not.

Like if I go from a 3550 to a 2960, I see this error

Anyway to remove this errors by removing these ports from the switch db? I tried list resources to uncheck the port I want to monitor but its not showing up.

Any help would be great.

NPM won't automatically remove items.  You're need to manually delete them.  You should be able to select the node in Web Node Management and delete the interfaces that aren't valid anymore.  If things still aren't matching up correctly, you may want to delete all the interfaces for that node, and re-add them using List Resources.
