Disable L3 topology

Hi to everybody, SW developer team suggested me to uncheck L3 topology for any nodes in order to improve my NPN performance but I dont understand, If I uncheck it for all nodes, how it changes the behavior of NPM and what kind of data I miss and I can not collect anymore?

Can someone help me?

If you uncheck L3 topology poller on a Node, Orion stops collecting ARP table data for it. Orion is able to utilize ARP table data for building topology connections, in case there were no other connections made just using Bridge table, LLDP or CDP (L2 topology poller). The worst case scenario is that some most likely indirect connections won't be made.
