How to receive SNMP traps without also setting up SNMP polling?

I have a piece of radio equipment that appears to just about able to send SNMP traps, but cannot be polled. I can get SNMP polling and traps setup fine for devices can do both, but when a device can just to traps, I can't seem to get it to received the trap. I have confirmed in Wireshark that the sending device is sending and that the Orion server is getting the packet, yet the trap viewer won't show it. I have the Solarwinds trap service turned on, and the Windows SNMP trap service off and as I said, traps for fine for my other devices.

What am I missing? Is NPM able to get traps on a device that it can't poll? Thanks

Well I got it working and it was sillier then a firewall. The trap sending device has port 165 as the default SNMP trap port but Orion accepts on 162. Once I changed it, they popped in fine. Argh.

windows firewall blocking it? trap rule filtering and discarding them?

I'm getting traps fine from devices that I'm not expecting them from
