Since upgrading to NPM 10.2 there is no option to backup the web console

Since upgrading to NPM 10.2 there is no option to backup the web console.

Before we would goto Start-->Programs-->Solarwinds Orion-->Advance Features--> console backup.

This option is no longer availble.

Does anyone know where this option is hiding.

The link the Web Server Backup tool was removed, but the application is still here:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\OrionWebBackup.exe"

This is not what should be used to backup the website (which is why the link was removed). All of the relevant configuration information for the website is stored in the database. So if you make sure you have proper database backups, you'll be good (you'll also get the data).

Have been able to locate the file. Didn't realise the database also backed-up the web console now.

Yeah I've just upgraded from 10.1.3 to 10.2.2 and noticed that too. Although the reason why I had to upgrade was because I could not get the web console working again after using the report scheduler (dont ask me why?).

I tried to run the web config restore utility but typically, when you actually need the thing to restore .. it doesn't!

When running the utility it hung halfway through and had to be closed and the only way I could get Orion working again was to re-install the application. I therefore decided to take the opportunity of upgrading to the latest version.

However, once I'd installed it, although all my nodes had returned and my maps, all of my bespoke 'views' had disappeared and had to be re-configured in addition to all the accounts!

Which brings me on to the current version..

If I had to re-install the server in a DR situation, providing the database was backed up (which it is - nightly), would the above happen again due to there being no facility to save the different views and user accounts I have created? I can only assume that the ommission of the web config backup utility from the program menu is an indication that the program doesn't work properly but is there an alternative to this or do you I have to re-create anything that is not a default view?
