NPM Crashed

Logged on this morning to an error that the disk space was gone, so went onto the server and removed a bunch of log files that somehow are being put on C drive again. Orion came up but none of the device nodes were being listed, and came up with an error link that didn't work.

I restarted the server, and now the Collector Polling Controller will not stay running and I get the below error in the logs.

To top it all off, the maintenance expired over the weekend!

Which version of Orion is it? We had problem with sdf database corruption in previous version.

Here's steps for fix. Please replace polling collector sdf.

Hmmm I see, it's latest version. Anyway solution for you is to replace SDF with blank.

I've entered internal case to track this scenario.

This resolved it. Apparently the installer has not been fixed for multiple drive installs. When I first upgraded to 10.x version from 8.x I ran into a tom of issues that all related to the installer putting the files on C drive and not knowing how to find the rest of the program.

Solarwinds support made a registry hack to eliminate the problem by pointing all to D drive where the package was installed. It appears that the latest updates and add-on packages has reverted back to C drive, so I am back to running out of drive space.

The fixes you linked to worked, it is back online, but I will need support to refix the D drive issues.

Do you have some antivirus? Can you exclude this SDF folder from his scan?
