Orion Architecture Question

Does anyone have thier appliction servers located in a differant city from the "users" who moinitor and upload content into the application?

Is the response to the user still good?

I work in Maryland...my primary Orion servers are in Missouri and the backup servers are in New Jersey.  So the web site is 1000+ miles away and it loads pretty well for us.  It all depends on your WAN service and the latency on it.  We use MS Terminal Server to these boxes to add devices, etc. and the response is pretty good.

I will say this as a bad point.  Alot of issues that I have seen are due to the location of the DB server.  In my scenario it's in Missouri.  So if I open a poller in New Jersey that's connected to that DB server it is much slower and sometimes a real pain.  SW does recommends having pollers/NPM close to the location of the DB server for performance reasons.  This is not an ideal solution for use because we are distributed city-wise.  It still works but sometimes the latency issues to the DB can hurt.
