Upgrading NPM 9.1 SP5 with an additional polling engine

Hello,

I have to upgrade NPM 9.1 SP5 and an associated additional polling engine.

When upgrading to new version following the upgrade path (9.1 SP5 -> 10.0 -> 10.1), is it better to upgrade the additional polling engine first or the main NPM instance? Or is that the same?

During upgrade, SQL data structure is changed?

My concern is getting some SQL inconsistency during upgrade.

See this tip for locating the upgrade instructions. It will give you directions and the most optimal way to upgrade.

In general, you should upgrade the main polling engine before upgrading the additional polling engine.

There are usually at least minimal structural alterations made to your database during an upgrade, particularly from 10.0 to 10.1.

In sum, to be most careful, follow the upgrade path you've noted, upgrading all additional polling engines AFTER upgrading the primary polling engine.
