Need help understanding HISTORICAL DATA COLLECTIONS for interfaces

I recently had an interface - let's call it Interface ID #123 - and it was being monitored and with data collections.

But - someone disconnects that interface and puts in on another port - let's call this new port/interface Interface ID #124.

Now Interface ID #123 is dead/in-active and I can not retreive historical data with Report Writer - is this to be expected? This is what is happening, so I take it all data is lost? Is that correct?

Once you delete a node or interface from Orion, the data gets dumped from the database as well. Your best bet would be to open a ticket but given that your SQL database is not a Solarwinds product I don't know how much help you can get. But I'm pretty sure the data gets truncated once the node or interface is removed from Orion.
