Averaging polling values from multiple devices

We have several Liebert DS units that we poll for a multitude of things. What we want to do is average the polls. There appears to be a way to have multiple polls for the same device, but we are looking for averaging multiple devices that we run the same UDP against.

If you know the OIDs you are polling, you can pretty easily create a Universal Device poller transform that will give you the average values. For more information, see "Transforming Poller Results" in the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide.

Well, thats what I thought. I went in and tried a transform poller results. I used the predefined AVG option and built my expression avg({poller1}, {poller2}, {poller3}) where each oller I changed the object for Liebert 1 , then 2, then 3, but when you do that, it changes all of them to the same object so essentially I take the average of the same three numbers. Am I doing it wrong?

Let me ask Development on this one. There may be a limitation such that all transformed pollers must be polling the same node. I'll post back here.

Unfortunately, at this time, UnDP transforms are indeed limited such that all pollers must be polling the same node. I will ensure that this is appropriately documented and mark this as a feature request for our Product Managers to review.
