cmdb or 3 party software to control elements in maniten window

I'm looking for some people experience on that area..

I made a Custom -property that "Service window" with on/off and set that in the alert suppression

Now

If change the node custom property on a node to -"Service window" ON and its work just fine

I know I can control /change the node custom property with the API. :-)

I need to know if any one try to implement the something like that ?

what problems issues they run into..?

For example

CMDB has elements that NPM does not monitor like passive elements (like dark fiber )
