what are these events which contain 'changed from' and 'changed to'?

User defined Transmit Bandwidth changed from 10000000 to 100000000 bps

User defined Receive Bandwidth changed from 10000000 to 100000000 bps

i often see these events which contain 'changed from' and 'changed to'

i've noticed these tend to show up several minutes later after Orion polls the device at discovery time or it's already been discovered and there's been a power cycling of the device then they show up again.

is there any need for concerns with these speed changing events?

Depends on a few things. I've seen some devices (Cisco 3700?) with that report the speed of auto-negotiate ports with nothing connected as 10 MB. Then when you connect a 100 MB or 1 GB device to the port, the router starts reporting the port speed as 100 MB or 1 GB. So that could be what you're seeing.

yes, i believe you may be right. that sure seems logical it would be doing that. and it may actually be a good thing to detect something like a server which has 'auto nego' settings on.

because we try to turn off 'auto nego' and fix the speed...fewer issues with the switch ports with doing that setting.
