SNMP community does not respond

I have 2 Orion servers running. One is running an old version 7.5 of Orion. The new server is running version 9.5. I am trying to add a node, a Cisco switch, that I have in the old server, to the new server. None of the Cisco devices that I have in the old server will add in the new server. I get an error stating the node xxx.xx.xx.xx does not respond with the community string 'mycommunity'.

The switches all respond using that string in the old Orion program. What am I missing???

Perhaps the SNMP Server IP Address in the Cisco routers is only pointing to the old server IP, and not the new server IP?

I am having the same problem in NPM 9.5 - but for me this is a brand new install (no previous versions). community strings test fine when tested through NPM node management, so I know they are good. However, when trying to use any integrated tool or simply just enable/disable an interface via right-click menu option on an interface, i enter the snmp community string when prompted, and it fails with the same error that you are reporting. Tried deleting and rediscovering devices, tried deleting and re-entering snmp configuration in NPM AND on my switghes, tried repairing the DB via the configuration manager. Same problem.

My other site has the same NPM configuration and same community strings - it works just fine.

i'm at a loss ... i'm thinking a complete reinstall of NPM may be my only option. not a pretty thought.
