Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Router BGP Monitoring

Just a suggestion, it would be really handy if Orion could monitor the status of BGP peering sessions, it is an industry standard MIB... Just through i'd throw it out there. I've seen a dozen posts asking about this.

Someday in the not too distant future the kids at SW will provide support for custom MIBs. All of our questions about lack of vendor support (Nortel, Foundry, Extreme, HP, Dell, etc...), and about technology support (VPN, BGP, ISDN, IP Voice, etc...), and physical monitoring (fans, temp, power, etc...) will fall away and we will reach a state of network monitoring nirvana.
Until then keep posting. Eventually the weight of the posts will force the issue.
Be fantastic.

Agreed. That would be extremely useful to have. Add a few other routing protocols, and it could potentially be a handly add-on pack.

I think allowing custom MIBs would rock. anyone could do anything they needed. completely customizable. Doesn't get any better than that!

I am not even talking custom MIB on this one. Although yes its desperately needed. I'm talking integration, like there is the "application monitoring" add on. Having the ability to monitor Routing-Peer status as a supported report/view/etc would be huge.

Here's a "Temporary" workaround until we get our custom MIB reporting:
You could enabling logging of BGP peer changes on your router & send them to the Orion Syslog. You should then be able to create a custom report in Report Writer, to view this data.
