Trouble Installing 7.7 with Win 2003 SP1
popper98
I'm wondering if anybody else has encountered this problem and found a solution:
Environment: Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition, SP1 + latest security patches, IBM 336 w/ 72GB SCSI, 4GB RAM.
Installed Orion 7.7 along with the MSDE SQL server without a problem. I try and launch the configuration wizard and ... nothing. Starting task manager I see that NetPerfMon-Wizard.exe starts up, times out, then dies. I also see a drwtsn32.exe process kick off slightly after starting the wizard.
Reviewing the DrWatson log reveals an 'application exception' in NetPerfMon-Wizard.exe.
I have un-installed and re-installed several times with the same results.
I have also sent an e-mail to support.
Thanks

Answer as provided by SolarWinds support:
1. Right mouse click on My Computer and select Properties.
2. Select the Advanced tab, click the Performance button, and then click the Settings button.
3. In Performance Options, click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Add.
4. In the Open dialog box, locate ../Program Files/SolarWinds/Network Performance Monitor V7/NetPerfMon-Wizard.exe.
5. Click Open, click Apply, and then click OK. When you are prompted to restart your server, click OK.
