Hi,
We are trying to setup monitoring of a website which is hosted in AWS using the HTTP template available in Solarwinds.
1. On The on-premise Solarwinds app server which is the only poller, opening the IE and browsing website is fine. Pinging the website from the poller lands us at the sitefinity load balancer where the ping times out. We think the complex redirects might be throwing solarwinds off.
2. We are able to Ping the 2 app servers fine.
I would think Solarwinds would need access to this load balancer over port 80. Additionally, either:
1. We would need to add the load balancer in Solarwinds as a node and then set this as a ‘Test node’ to be able to test this monitor.
2. We would need to add the Website as an external node in Solarwinds and then set this as a ‘Test node’ to be able to test this monitor.
3. We would need to add the 2 App servers as nodes in Solarwinds and then set them as a ‘Test node’ to be able to test this monitor.
Has anyone previously done something similar and has any advice on how we can set this up.
At the moment we cannot see why solarwinds can't access the website over port 80. Maybe solarwinds is trying to establish some sort of connection with the app server, beyond just a HTTP GET to the URL, and waiting for a response of 200.
