"Volume Index changed"
CMCjim
I see this question asked in May of 2004 but not answered, so am willing to embarrass myself by asking it again:
I am getting an event listing in Orion stating that the "Volume Index changed from 6 to 4" or maybe "7 to 5." I see this in reference to both Virtual and Physical memory on two brand new W2K3 servers, but see nothing out of the ordinary on the servers themselves. I've been unable to identify what the "Volume Index" is supposed to be or what it is in reference to.
Any help? Point me to a source of info?
Thanks.

The volume index seems to be some sort of internal drive numbering. I get the same message when connecting an external hard disk to the usb port of the server.

I am curious about also! It is happening on all the drives and memory also!
Thanks much,
Cheryl
