Can I see what OIDs are being polled?

When adding a device to NPM is there a way to see what OIDs SolarWinds is polling to gather interface statistics? I have a device that I can gather interface statistics in NPM however I will have to build custom pollers in SolarWinds MSP to monitor. I have not been able to find any references to interface statistics from the vendor MIB so I was curious if there is a way to see how NPM is getting those statistics.

Two answers:

To see all OIDS which respond on a particular device, use SNMPWalk.exe, which you can typically find in \program files(x86)\solarwinds\orion.

If you need to see the specific flow of SNMP get requests to a particular box, use wireshark, filterd down to the polling engine and target; and only looking at port 161/162.

In most cases looking through documentation helps but in this case the only documentation I can find mentions that this vendor does not have OIDs specifically for interface statistics. Doing a MIB walk I have not found any direct references to interfaces. Only VLANs. SolarWinds Orion can support the device and gather interface statistics without the need of any custom pollers. I think doing a packet capture and looking at what Orion is polling is my best bet.

Some firewall vendors can be extremely tricky to monitor.........

I don't recall any scenario where Solarwinds uses anything other than the standard interface oids, same ones that are part of the snmp rfc,
