Monitoring the APC AP7932/AP7941 amperage.

I am a new user to the Orion NPM package. Part of my baseline hopes in to get my monitor watching power usage. I know the APC PDU's I have have 3 OID's for Bank A, Bank B and Total. Is there a Poller already for this?

I found APC Metered PDU - AMPs.UnDP from hgere that appears to hit two of the three OID's by calling them out as phases of a 3-phase power system. The 3rd always reads 0.

I managed to work through this in Cacti/MRTG but Orion is a new beast to me and I would appreciate some advice.

I'm starting to put all the APC - AP7920's in Orion NPM, so at this moment i'm searching for info..

Do you have info for me, or sum interesting links to read.

No real answer. I am using one of the solutions prevously posted, and modified it slightly so that it divides by 10 so it shows 1.3 amps and not 13 Units.

Haven't been working on SW lately due to other work, but plan to come back around to this by May.

also just to add to this when you use transforms and the poller name has a decimal and then a number in it, transforms will ignore the pollername all togethor and take that decimal as part of your transforms.

so in the poller download for APC PDUs the poller names are rPDULoadStatusLoad.1 you'll need to get rid of that .1 before trying to transform the result

I renamed mine to rPDULoadStatusLoadOne etc etc.. then the transform works great.

Solarwinds support does know about this issue that's where i got it from but it doesn't seem to be widely known over there (aka took me to go through a few people before i got that answer)

HI all,

I'd appreciate some assistance. I am trying to monitor an APC PDU in WhatsUpGold and the value of the phase load is 16 amps when it should be 1.6amps as per reading when i connect to the acutally devices GUI. It maybe an issue that the number is returning as an interger rather than a floating point number and i've tried changing value types with no success. Any other suggestions as i am also looking into adding some code in the performance monitor but i'd appreciate a full listing of code as at the moment i have only come across snipets of code whih is hard to work out what goes where.
