Monitoring Netapp Filers
gbarret
Hi ,
I would like to monitor our NetAPP filers on solarwinds but all I can see is interface stats and nothing for CPU , Memory , disks etc.
Has anyone had success doing this ?
Thanks
Ger

Hi Ger,
No. You can't monitor anything else on a NetApp box at this time. However, the kids at SolarWinds are working on custom MIB support. When they get that completed you will, theoretically, be able to monitor your NetApp on any supported MIB.
We have a custom property called HTTP_monitor. This is a catch all for any device with its own HTTP interface for monitoring/management. For the NetApp we point this to:
<a target=_blank href=NETAPP_NAME_OR_IP/.../ataglance.html>Filer At-A-Glance</a>
(You have to place the above HTML string into the custom property field.)
We then display the custom property on the Orion web page in the Node Details view.
Be fantastic.
