Events and Alerts on Limited Accounts

I have setup an Account Limitation for a user - limiting the user's access to a node and a specific interface on that node. However, that user can still see alerts and events on other interfaces on the device. Shouldn't they only see alerts for the interfaces they have access to?

For users that I have set up with Account Limitations (based on Custom Property values), the Event and Alert views only show entries based on the Account Limitations.

All the usual questions apply, what products/versions, etc.

I can tell that the Nodes are limited when I apply the limitation, but the interfaces on that node are not - hence, when I click on an event, I get the error:

Account Limitation Error

You do not have permission to view Net Object "I:2663".

and I'm not using a custom property - I'm using a Group of Nodes and Interface Alias Pattern. Assuming these are "and"ed together (it appears as I expect browsing the nodes) - just not in the Events.

When you use the Interface Alias Pattern, do you use SQL pattern matching (e.g. %Core uplink%)?

I was also hoping that the Interface Alias Pattern would work without specifying the nodes, since the pattern may appear on interfaces on other devices as the network grows and changes. It sounds like I need to specify the nodes as well.

Did you build a custom view of just those interfaces and link the user account to that view?
