Hi,
I would like to replace telnet/http with ssh/https because I didn't activate this services on my switches (for security reason).
Will it be possible to do this without using toolset product?
Thanks & Regards,
Add a resource to your node details web page and use ssh://{IP_Address} for ssh and use https://{IP_Address} for https.
Thanks for your prompt reponse.
However, I didn't have this options (see attachement).
Is there another way to do this?
Thanks & regards,
You can add User Links resource to Node Details. The green plus symbol for whichever column you're adding the User Links resource to.
This is basically the same as the SSH button toward the top of the Node details list. That doesn't work either due to ssh:// not being handled properly. I've seen several threads about this but none of the suggested fixes with registering the protocol works for me.
Another work around that I found a while back was updating the registry to reflect ssh in the telnet space. Then you can point it at SecureCRT or PuTTY or whatever program you want to use. This would simply change the Node Details resource to use ssh instead. You would need to change the registry setting on every computer wanting to use ssh though. It works quite nicely though if you need to use a specific program.

Remembered something else if you want that to work. You also have to change a SolarWinds file for the Node Details resource to get it pointed at the correct registry for ssh.
