Looking for possible variables like ${NodeID}
cschear
I quickly noticed that the "Custom HTML" and "User Defined Links" were global and not specific to each Node. I was intending on putting in some specific links and information, unique to particular Nodes. In order to retain the uniqueness of the information in these two Node fields, I need a full list of possible variables that can be inserted into the text, such as "${NodeID}.
That way, I can make global links that are uniquely created (i.e.)
"">www.google.com/search
I imagine there are such things as "${NodeDescription}" and "${NodeVendor}" but am also needing to know if any of the Custom Properties can be referenced. For example, I created a custom property called "Campus_PVC". Is there a way for me to reference that value with variables? I'd also like to know if the custom property NAME can be modified when viewing it in the Node Details page. I'd like to remove the underscores so properties such as "LAN_WAN_Deployment" can be viewed as "LAN/WAN Deployment", etc.
Did a search of the forums and knowledge base and couldn't find any references. Can someone provide me with a comprehensive list of all possible variables?
Thanks in advance.

Use the Custom Property Editor.
When creating a Custom Property on a node it gets stored in the Nodes table and when you create a Custom Property on an interface it gets stored in the interface table.
So, if you created a Custom Property of IPAddy on the Interfaces you could access this by ${IPAddy}.

From Report Writer, select a report, then click on the report menu option and select SQL. This will reveal lots of SQL variables that are in use and can be used for creating filters of all types and other custom reports, custom properties etc.
