okay to disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP?

Would like to know if it's okay to disable NetBIOS on the Orion server? Noticed a lot of NETBIOS traffic being block on the firewall logs. Would like to disable it, if it doesn't affect functionality of Orion.

Disable NetBIOS resulted in error communicating with the SQL server. Any suggestion on pointing the Orion server to the database server without using NetBIOS to resolve the name?

You could try a host file..

craig999 is right, you could try disabling netbios and using a hosts file (which in the case of netbios is actually the LMHOSTS file).
