We are working on some new ideas to improve the upgrade experience (moving from one version to a newer version) for SolarWinds products. What SolarWinds products you own
If you have any additional polling engines
If you have any additional web servers

Do you have a document you could share on your process?

I used the upgrade tool on the Solarwinds website to show me which upgrades to do when. Have you checked it out? I can share my upgrade path but if you have different products to myself it may not help much.

First of all I did a backup of the current bank hours before the procedure, in all environment.

I checked the hardware and software requirements configurations for new versions.

I took time off from work and told the team that we would be left unmonitored at the time.

After this all upgraded the main poller, I upgraded. Secondary poller. And additional server.
